Ifyou are a football player or a fan, you must know about the Panyee FC Team from Thailand. The story of the boys in a town, which is on an island, is a great example ofstrong desire and determination. There was not enough space to live on the island, but the boys vvanted to play football every day after school. The World Cup was being shown on TV and they were dreaming ofbeing the Champion while watching. They vvanted to start practising, but fin din g a place w as a big problem. One day, they sat together and decided to build their own place on the sea, a floating playground! They collected old vvoods from boats and the seaside. They collected everything that they could use. They put the vvoods together and tied them with fishing nets. The fishermen were arguing with them as they scared the fish vvhile building it The villagers were makingfun of them, but the boys didn’tstop. İn a few vveeks, the playground was ready. They started playing football every day after school. As it was a floating playground, it was alvvays wet. Most of the time, they had to jump into the vvater to drag the bali out. Day by day, they got used to playing on the wet surface and were able to control the wet bali easily. After a year, they joined Southern Thailand’s Youth Soccer Championship Tournament. The villagers collected money to buy sports gears and went to the tournament to support the team. The boys ıvere amazing! They could reach the semi final vvithout breaking a svveat. On the day of the final match, it m/as raining heavily. They ıvere losing the game because they couldn’t play vvith the w e t shoes on. With a snap decision, they put off the shoes and played barefoot. Guess vvhat! The wet ground m/as the same as the floating one! They scored one after another and became the Champion. The boys are in their 30s now and stili playing football. They also teach the youngsters of the village. The villagers are proud of them and they believe that they vvill see the World Cup at their lan d one day.
