CHERRY BLOSSOM LANTERN FESTİVAL
Also known as Honmyoji Hanatourou, this festival has taken place in Kumamoto City, Japan on the last Saturday of March since 2002. It is a joint organisation that originated from the cooperation between the local university and residents. During the season of cherry blossoms, 3,000 Japanese handmade paper lanterns are hung on cherry trees, which light up the night. Apart from these, about 500 stone lanterns are placed on the steps of the Honmyoji Temple. Every year, locals come up with different designs of objects in which they light candles and the number of them can reach 8,000. That’s the reason why locals also name it’Festival of Light’. To enhance the great charm of the experience visitors have, Japanese harp, lute, and violin are played at every corner of the temple.

It can be inferred from the text that Honmyoji Hanatourou is known for its -A being a very ancient festival B attraction for foreign visitors C outstanding scenic beauty
