One day, a new graduate automotive technician attended a job interview with a world- famous car company. First, they talked about general things like the information in the CV, the interviewee’s interests and pastimes. Then, the interviewer, who is the Human Resources Officer, asked the technician “How much do you expect to be paid as the starting salary and what kind of working conditions do you want to work in?” He replied, “Approximately &8000 a month and three days off including Friday, or Monday.” The Officer said, “Would it be OK for you if we gave you four days off, full insurance, paid holidays and a brand new company car?” The technician jumped to his feet at once and yelled in excitement, “Oh, my God! Are you kidding me?” And the interviewer said, “Well, I think I am, but it was you who did that first.”
A high-school Philosophy teacher wanted her students to write a 1000-word essay as homework. However, she told nothing about the topic in order not to limit them to a specific point. Mike, a mischievous boy, wanted to impress his teacher with his intelligence. Therefore, he made a clever plan; he was going to hand in just a picture. When it was the deadline for the essay, he gave the picture to his teacher. The teacher looked at the paper with displeasure on her face but didn’t say anything. A few days passed by before the teacher
came into the classroom with essays in her hand. She announced the marks the students got and finally read Mike’s mark by saying, “You got a 0 on your 1000-word essay.” Mike stood up at once and asked, “But why?” The teacher replied, “Because you submitted a picture.” That was the answer Mike was waiting for; he put a smile on his face and said, “Teacher, don’t you know what they say? A picture is worth a thousand words.”
