According to our survey, people aged 15-65 prefer watching TV in their free time. The second most popular answer is reading a book. Online video games take the third place in this list. However, when we consider we are living in a digital era which our children are born into, it is quite probable that it will take the first place in a decade or so.

In the survey, the participants’ ages, jobs and favourite free time activities are asked. The least common answers are spending time with family, doing exercise, extreme sports, hobbies and related activities. The results show that the answer to this question depends mostly on the age of the person. Job, country, climate and economical reasons are the other important variables. As we mentioned, in choosing a leisure time activity, age is the most important determiner. For example, while young people prefer surfing the Internet, playing video games, doing outdoor activities and hanging out with friends, adults prefer watching TV, doing indoor activities and spending time with their families. Job is also another factor that affects the result. People who have tiring jobs prefer spending their free time with indoor activities such as watching films or sports programmes on TV
