I may say a lot of people think the environmental problems are not as big as people are talking about, but THEY ARE! From the destruction (1) of the rainforests to melting glaciers, from extinction of animal species to pollution, we have really big problems. Let’s have a look at some of these problems.
The Mammal Extinction
Extinction threatens one in four mammals. That means 25% of the mammals are in danger. We should know the extinction (2) of those will totally change the ecology of the Earth. If you think extinction of an animal is not a big deal, you are wrong! That will influence (3) the world’s food chain and the balance of the nature.
The Oceans
Years ago, dead zones began to appear (4) in the oceans. What are they? Those are the areas that have no oxygen. Waste materials, chemicals and farm fertilizers pollute the water. That causes the death of the sea creatures.
The Rainforests
Although a lot of people are aware of the deforestation, we are still facing great loses (5) of rainforests. Our world needs these forests to produce more oxygen. Scientists say if people continue to destroy the rainforests, half of them will disappear by 2030.
